Leong v. Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, 788 P.2d 164 (Hawaii 1990)
The Hawaii Supreme Court held, as a matter of public policy, that a parent has the power to bind her child to an arbitration agreement. This decision also reflected the legislative policy to "encourage arbitration as a means of settling differences and thereby avoid litigation."
